About Our Doctors
Dr. Kristopher W. Hansen, D.V.M.
Dr. Hansen is a lifelong resident of Fairfield County. From Fairfield Preparatory High School and through Hobart College in New York, his love of animals and science led him to pursue his doctoral degree in veterinary medicine at Ross University on beautiful St. Kitt’s island in the Caribbean. Dr. Hansen will tell you the education at Ross was invaluable in that professors recognized the importance of hands on experience. Back in the states, Dr. Hansen finished his residency at the University of Missouri, an exceptional training facility with state of the art equipment. It was here that Dr. Hansen fine tuned his skills as a physician and surgeon for a wide range of species, large and small animals.
He is a skilled and dedicated physician and surgeon, a doctor with a passion for science and compassion for humans and animals alike. He has thoroughly enjoyed building this practice in historic Black Rock and feels the mission of Ash Creek Animal Hospital contributes to the neighborhood’s renewed sense of community. Dr. Hansen enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, taking in local tastes, sights and sounds. He’ll be happy to great you with a warm smile and a firm handshake whether at the clinic or out on the town.
Dr. Victoria Carmella, D.V.M
Dr. Carmella is also a lifelong resident of Fairfield County. She is a recent graduate of Dr. Hansen’s Alma Mater, Ross University and finished residency at the University of Auburn Veterinary School. After a thoughtful search, Dr. Hansen feels that Dr. Carmella is the natural choice for an associate because she shares his outlook and approach to veterinary medicine and will honor his mission in our community. Dr. Carmella is kind, patient and ever-ready to go the extra mile for clients at Ash Creek Animal Hospital. She enjoys spending quality time with her four dogs at home or out on the town.
